Board of Directors
RePerak is led by a small central unit, the Board of Directors which consists of three proud Perakeans from diverse background and strength in governance, political leadership, corporate management, social leadership, organizational management, performing arts, events management, publishing, public relations, research management, content development, creative economy, heritage conservation, place branding and regeneration.
The strategic direction of RePerak is set by the Board of Directors with facilitation and consultation with various parties involving local corporate figures, politicians, senior governmental officials, local authority officials, leaders of the civil society and entrepreneurs.
Dedicated expert practitioners from various fields work together to implement the strategic priorities of RePerak, meaning we are able to draw a wide range of experience and expertise at the highest levels, delivering high quality professional output, new thinking and catalyzing initiatives driven by research.
Dato’ Seri Dr. Abdullah Fadzil bin Che Wan
Dato’ Seri Dr. Abdullah Fadzil Che Wan (alumnus of Anderson School, Ipoh) holds a M.B.B.S. degree from King Edward Medical College, Panjab University, Lahore, West Pakistan. A medical doctor by profession Dato’ Seri is the Orang Kaya-Kaya Panglima Kinta Seri Amar Bangsa DiRaja, member of the Perak State Senate and the Orang Besar Jajahan Kinta, Perak Darul Ridzuan.
He has served in the Malaysian Cabinet from 1987 to 1999, as Deputy Foreign Minister (1987 to 1995) and as Deputy Defence Minister (1995 – 1999). He was a Member of Parliament for Bukit Gantang from 1987 to 2004.
Dato’ Seri is the Chairman and independent Non-Executive Director as well as the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Rock Chemical Industries (M) Bhd, a company listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. He is the Chairman of Kinta Properties Sdn Bhd a well-established housing developer in Perak and also the Chairman of Cita Hidup Sdn Bhd which is currently developing commercial properties in prime locations in Ipoh. He also developed Taman Che Wan at Jalan Kuala Kangsar and Taman On at Jalan Pasir Putih through his family owned company before he joined the Malaysian Cabinet.
Dato’ Seri is currently the Executive Chairman and major shareholder of Perak Integrated Network Services Sdn Bhd, a state backed company (SBC) in charge of erecting tele-communication towers and structures in the state of Perak for the main telecommunication companies in Malaysia. Other notable positions include being the Executive Chairman of Swiftlet Eco Park Group of Companies, Tenby Schools Group and Enabling Asia.
In the non-governmental sector, he is the Chairman of Perak Academy. Their mission is to promote the culture and technology scene of Perak by supporting activities and projects related to intellectual discourse, research and writing. He is currently the Chairman of Justice Peace Council in Perak and the Deputy Chairman of the Justice Peace Council of Malaysia.
Datin Rosalina Ooi (alumnus of Main Convent School, Ipoh), has a ballet teaching Diploma at the Royal Academy of Dancing in London. In year 2000, she graduated from the University of Durham with a post-graduate degree in Ballet and contextual studies. In year 2007, she received her MBA from the Cambridge Management Institute. Datin Rosalina is a founding member of The Dance Society Malaysia and has been representing the Northern Chapter to date. She is also a founding member of the Perak Society of Performing Arts and has been the President since 2002. She has also been training teachers since 1994 and has been tutoring teachers of the South East Asia region for the Royal Academy of Dance, London since 2005. She has directed and choreographed various productions such as Shining Black Gold, My Fair Lady, Merry Widow, Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, Corousel, Brigadoon, inclusive of a full length production of Beauty and the Beast and Kyla’s Quest and the producer of Bursting Out!
Anthony Eng (alumnus of Anderson School, Ipoh), holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Wigan & Leigh College, United Kingdom and is currently undertaking his Master in Business Administration (Leadership) with the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. He was instrumental in founding the ‘Perakean Effort’ and has been the driving force behind RePerak since its inception in 2005. From 2005 to 2008, he was the Publisher and Managing Editor of VicinityPerak, Perak’s first English lifestyle magazine.
He is a founding member and Protem Secretary of the Perakean League, a pre-eminent organization to unite the Perakean diaspora in providing leadership for Perak’s regeneration. During 2007 to 2009, he led the editorial research of ‘The Perakean Publications’. In late 2008, he started the formation of a dedicated place branding apparatus for Perak state and several years later on the 2nd May 2012, Brand Perak (M) Sdn Bhd was formed in partnership with the Perak State Development Corporation. Recently he was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer.
He was responsible in transforming RePerak into becoming Malaysia’s first regeneration social enterprise, focusing on economic, social and physical regeneration in Perak state. He is known of his tenacity and undying passion for Perak state. He is definitely one of the very few individuals who undertake heritage family genealogical research and is currently undergoing extensive research on a number of subjects in connection with the ‘Gangga Negara Kingdom’, ‘Rahman Kingdom’, and ‘Reimagining Perak’. He has written two books entitled “Legacy of a Perakean” and “Great Depression of the Tin Miners”.
He is a member of the Association of Place Branding and Public Diplomacy, World Future Society, Malaysia Nature Society, Badan Warisan Malaysia and Old Andersonians Club.
Office of Management & Resources
Eva Ng is the Head of Management and Resources at RePerak and was with the company since its inception in 2005; with accumulated experience in marketing communications, organizational administration and operations, research, archiving management, outsourcing management, and governmental relations.
After completing her Bachelor Degree in Marketing (Hons) at the Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom, she joined RePerak and became its pillar of strength. She has risen through the ranks to her current position from Media Administrator (2008), Assistant Manager-Media & Communications (2007), Corporate Affairs Senior Executive (2005). In addition, she also assists the Chief Executive Officer in providing research resources for the overall strategic management of RePerak.
In 2007, she was tasked to assist the Protem Secretariat of The Perakean League, a pre-eminent organization to unite the Perakean Diaspora to provide leadership for Perak’s regeneration. Her works involve developing the groundwork for the formation of The Perakean League.
Eva Ng was also instrumental in the founding of Perak’s first lifestyle magazine, VicinityPerak as its Associate Editor. She is known of her resourcefulness and her dedication to RePerak’s journey.
